Many applicants believe that receiving an Invitation to Apply through Express Entry means permanent residence is almost guaranteed. I see that this assumption creates a lot of problems because IRCC has become much stricter in recent years. Incompleteness check

One of the most frequent refusals happens during the R10 completeness check. This stage occurs very early in the application process. I think many people underestimate how strict IRCC officers are during this first review.

CRS score recalculation

Another major refusal reason is linked to section A11.2. IRCC recalculates the CRS score after the ITA is issued. Medical inadmissibility

Some applications are refused during the medical stage. This usually happens when IRCC determines that a medical condition may create excessive demand on the Canadian healthcare system or represents a public health risk. These refusals are difficult because they often occur late in the process.

Criminal inadmissibility

Criminal inadmissibility remains a major issue for many applicants. I see that people often underestimate foreign convictions, especially DUI related offenses. Even charges considered minor in another country may still create immigration problems under Canadian law.

Security screening concerns

Failure to meet program requirements

Finally, some applicants are refused simply because they do not actually qualify for the immigration program they applied under.
